If you are wondering what your home is worth, it may be tempting to put your address into Google and see what the Automated Valuation Models (AVMs) at the big websites determine. However, AVMs only determine home value on a few home features and there is little that takes how much your home might appeal to buyers into account.  

For example, what if your home has a great view of the mountains, but your neighbor’s view is overgrown with trees? What if your neighbor just redid their landscaping? What if you recently upgraded your appliances? What if you recently remodeled your fireplace and installed dry-stacked stone? The AVM doesn’t make these types of adjustments.
